I have currently taken a new Job specializing in DJ equipment. Decks, Amps, Speakers, Lasers, Lighting Rigs, Controllers and FX.

Now outside the ability to actually DJ, i don't know squat about the industry. And yet this is my new Job, 5 days a week. 9-5.

We do installs aswell, So we kit out Pubs and Clubs. We just landed a contract for £15,000 to kit out a club in Wakefield.

So I have to work full-time, learning the product. I'm also designing the website for the business, AND I'm expected to learn a piece of software called Dazlight, which is for laser\lighting shows using DMX.

So, As you can imagine, Weekdays are very busy for me. Because While not in shop, I'm at home designing the website.

Add to this my hobbies.

1. Learning Japanese, Properly! With written Hiragana\Katakana with no English characters.

2. Teaching myself Blender3D, Under Vista at the moment(eugh)

3. Learning to use a Linux Distro and program\modify it for my needs. Considering installing blender3D under linux and learning the 2 in Tandem.

I do go out, dont worry i dont sit at my PC 7 Days a week :D Although it feels like I do sometimes...

Just wondered what what you guys are doing with your spare time at the moment? What are you learning? Got any projects on the go?

DMX lighting - awesome! Last time I tried to start a thread on GD about DMX, they piled in the jokes about the rapper called DMX lol. I'm only a hobbiest myself and I'm interested to compare notes. My rig is entirely LED at the moment. 4 slimline par cans, 4 Dynaleds, 1 Astraled, 2 stage blinders, 2 of the new Aspect bars and an Antari smoke machine.

Y'all gonna make me lose my mind...:P

Haha only kidding, something that sounds interesting, and somethign I need to look into for a few events were doing and such, so may end up calling upon your knowledge soon!

fairly relaxed... im a student though, first year mech eng/ aerospace (havnt decided what to specialise in yet but aerospace sounds better, that way people think im a rocket scientist, not a fricking car mechanic), have on average about a 1500 word lab report to do every week, which means every wednesday night i'm crapping myself trying to make sense of it for the following morning and then make the 8.15 morning lecture... Weekends involve trying to catch up on work i don't understand... and as i get closer and closer to exams general stress increases..... if i stopped procrastinating my life would be a lot less hectic and a lot less stressful..

its important to note the difference between stressful and hectic though...

Varies a lot... Since the start of this year I had around 6 weeks of just 9-5 and generally not doing much, then I ramped up and was doing around 18 hour days 7 days a week for a couple of weeks before heading off abroad for a few days... Then 3 days of 9-5 again and off again for 3 days. I now have a week of 9-5 before what looks like a pretty hectic week followed by a couple of hard weeks of revision...

So yeah... Varied with work, outside that I don't really do much but am hoping to do a bit more outside now the clocks have gone back and it's getting warmer.

I'm a student and this is me all over. I had a 3 hour nap at 6pm because I couldn't be bothered staying awake.

genuine chuckle from me but in all seriousness that is ridiculous. you 'couldn't be bothered staying awake'? there's people fighting for their lives, striving for tomorrow and you 'couldn't be bothered staying awake' lol have a word with yourself eh?

During the week I'm busy at work. Trying to do various things on various projects but not making the greatest progress which is frustrating.

Outside of work, I go out with friends or chill at home.

Personal project is writing a book but I'm bad as in I have different ideas and try to work on all of them at the same time.

No very much and it's rubbish. It probably could be but I'm not doing anything I enjoy at the moment.
