The best AM3 air cooler

What is the best air cooler for a phenom quad core.

Currently using a thermolab baram which idles around 30 and under prime hit around 54, crysis 2 is pushing near enough 48degress and with summer just round the corner i think a better cooling solution is required.

if you can just post your cpu+speed and what your idle load temps are i can get a better idea of how they perform.

problem is most reviews use intels to do their testing.

I'd say the Thermalright Venomous X Black Edition is certainly 1 of the best air coolers for AM3.

Idles at 30-31 full prime load at 59 most games usually have it sitting around 40-45C
old titan fenrir with a apache silent lashed to the back with the stock fan pushing

My Fenrir has to point downwards though? It's a right pain, sucks in all the heat from the graphics cards so it gets pretty toasty.

I'd say D14 would be the obvious choice. It's big, it mounts horizontal, it comes with decent fans, lovely stuff.

yeah mine too Muel,+1 for a noctua D14, make sure ya got the case for it though
