new gaming rig im hoping to buy in the next month or so if anyone could please advice for or even against the parts selected that would be very helpful thanks in advance

For that sort of budget you should be looking at getting a Sandybridge based Intel setup, it will totally out do anything from AMD currently available, the PSU should be absolutely fine though.

Sandybridge is the latest intel chips from their i3, i5 and i7 range to hit the shelf. With some slick threading and few other techno gizbo's, they're the best currently on the market.

Maybe instead go for this processor and mobo:

Also, I'm questioning your choice of HDD. I'm not really familiar with those hybrids myseld but if you know its what you want then go for it. I personally however would be far more tempted to buy a separate SSD of about 60GB and then a 1TB HDD for the main storage on the side.

EDIT: This would be my basket if I were you, but I'd also throw in a CPU cooler as well so that I could safely overclock

S-ATA issue affected all the B2 boards.

Look into the motherboard section.

But there are far fewer "reports" of issues with other brands, and just as many sales.

So, as I'm sure you'll reason, the other brands are a better choice atm! Especially when the MSI GD55/65 are better boards anyway!

I didn't say there were no problems with other makes, I just said there are less of them, and in general the MSI boards are better than the equivalent from ASUS!

ok few tweaks to the setup will probably get the ssd at a later date but have included it now anyway i did notice a discussion about the motherboard so hopefully there is no issues with that 1 any sugestions welcome
