According to my research 460 is best bang 4 back card out there at the mo inc SLI.

I wanna build a rig that last few years so first get best 460 then add second then add 3rd 460... Even 2 x 460 (£150 each) is close to 590 / 6990 performance but half cost. 3x 460 will crash all out there now!

So which one is best? So many versions. Anyone got something to day valuable?

at e b u y r they got about 10 different 460...s

Hi,

What resolution do you run and is there a maximum amount you have in mind when looking for a 460?

The best one here appears to be the Gigabyte SOC version imo. It's certainly one the best available.

Best budget card at the moment is:

£66 more than 1 460 for xfire and it will kick it's butt!

Why dont you get GTX 560? Some of hte OC versions match 570 speeds... Then you could get another one in a while and be set for a long tiem to come.

Yeah 5850 is awesome and it's actually better than GTX 460's:

5850 = £110 - £220 for CF
460 = £120 - £240 for SLI

£20 cheaper and it'll be faster than 460 SLI:

I'm tempted to sell my 460 and grab two 5850's now!

5850 CF is also faster than a 6970:

And even a 580:

Don't understand prices these days, a £220 CF setup is faster than cards almost double the price? unless I'm missing something haha.

The 5850 prices will go up after the preordering phase though, so perhaps if you are not buying immeadiately consider other cards, but right now the 5850 is an amazing deal

I had 5850 xfire then Gigabyte GTX 460 SOC in Sli. I did not come across ANY games where the 5850 were as fast. They were hotter and a lot noisier than the 460 and had more driver issues than Nvidia. I dont care how cheap AMD cards are I would always go for the green equivelent. I am not a fanboy of Nvidia but have had lots of cards from both over the years and always go back to Nvidia. Its not all about benchmark scores IMO its about gameplay smoothness and stability.

What I don't like is that those OC UK reviews are moderated. WTF.
Imagine if amazon started moderating user feedback. that would stir up a ****storm...

moderated reviews are meaningless
