Yep... another one of us has gone gay... I've bought an MX5!
Decided a couple of weeks ago just after the MOT that I would flog the mini and get something fun for my last summer at home... and I may well keep it for when I come back and let my step dad play in it while I'm at uni!
Had the mini up for 3 days and got an offer of £1k delivered to Essex... Was unsure as it was delivering the car but after other stupid offers I decided to take it. It's easily as much as the car is worth and it was just the drive that was a pain. Mildly worried about being messed around... but it turned out I had the oddest buyer; we delivered it to his business on an industrial estate... he didn't even look at the car, handed me £1k, signed all the paper work, and said cheers. Didn't so much as glance at the car.
Convieniently found a black mx5 for sale in Essex to go and view, very well priced, caught it as soon as it came up on ebay, and viewed tonight. Think I got quite a good deal... paid £1350 and the car has absolutely no rust, rot or anything, and for a UK car it has a decent spec, leather seats, power windows, central locking, etc etc.
The other 3 we had viewed were shabby or sounded rough as hell, and were all more expensive than this. It drives fantasically, cannot fault it.
Absolutely chuffed... just need to get me some clippers now
