Hi Guys,

will a 6950 be able to run games like tf2/lfd2/bfbc2 at 2560x1440 or will i be better off saving more cash and getting something better?

Thanks.

The games you have listed are quite cpu intensive which isn't an issue judging by your cpu spec. A 6950 should handle those titles at that res just fine.

This is what i'm thinking. I have a 5850 which clocks to 950/1150, so equals a 5870 plus a lil bit interms of performance, so may be enough for one of the new Hazros :D If anything, its the 1GB Vram that worries me. Can anyone with a 5850 on this res comment?

From what I have read, the pixel pitch on 27" 2560x1440 monitors generally means you need to apply less AA. I think I'm going to try and see how it goes.

A GTX280 is not a slow card, so give it a go at 2560x1440, you may be surprised!

More than 1.5 times as many pixels compared to 1900x1200 so there will be a considerable performance hit i would have thought?

Going to a similar res myself but another card will be going in alongside present one :)

I wish the text was bigger on my 24" 1920 x 1200 and the pixel pitch is even smaller on a 27" 2560x1440. But as you say for gaming it would be excellent probaly wouldn't need need to apply any aa.
Any owners of a 27" 2560x1400 - how do you find reading text on webpages etc..
