Hi,
have just built a I5 2500k system using the P8P67 board with no reliability issues, everything is nice and stable (fingers crossed)
I do however get the message

Adapter 1 Disk Information
No hard disk detected

after the initial Asus splash screen at start up. The splash screen is shown again and then it loads windows. There doesnt seem to be any issue with windows or any hardware installed

Any Ideas?

After more looking into this, its to do with the Marvell Storage Controller (AHCI Mode) and the Marvell Storage OPROM (which defaults to enabled).
Ive read that the P8P67 Deluxe boards have a further option to Display OPROM in post, which the standard board is missing.

wondering if updating to latest bios will sort?

check in your bios, you have the Marvell controller enabled for the extra 'off chipset' sata 3 connections. If you have something plugged into one of those sockets, the other vacant one will display 'no hard drive' or you have an optical drive connected. tbh unless all of the other sata connections are full, I would switch to the P67 chipset connections and disable the marvell as it's slower than the intel sata 3.

I presume you are already using a B3 revision board

Yes, using the B3 Revision!

I have a HD plugged into SATA3G_3, a DVD RW plugged into SATA3G_4, another HD plugged into SATA3G_5, nothing in plug 6.

Also nothing plugged into the SATA6G plugs (1+2)

from what i can make out as nothing is plugged into the marvell serial ATA 6gb connectors (another 2 empty sockets next to the SATA6G sockets), then i should turn them off? (disable) or switch to IDE mode rather than AHCI mode?

Also should I using the 6G sockets even if not using a SSD?

thanks

Disable the Marvell controller in the BIOS if you don't use the sockets.

No need to use the 6G sockets with HDD's. It won't make any difference to their speed.
