Great case for air cooling?

I've settled on the majority of the components for my new build(s) however I can't decide on the case. My wife has gone for the CM690 II Adv in white. I'll pay up to £150 but happy to pay less for something good...

Possible ideas have been:

Corsair 600T
Cubitek XL - Tank
Coolermaster Cosmos - jury out on the model

I'm thinking of going for a Thermaltake Archon or Silver Arrow so width of the case is a factor and obviously good airflow.

Any suggestions?

Lancool K62.
Coolermaster HAF-X.
NZXT Phantom.

I am buying a HAF-X soon because it's one of the best air cooling cases at the moment and the interior is pretty damn huge from what i've seen. The case also offers a lot for it's price aswell and should be fine for big coolers.

Thanks, I had briefly looked at the HAF-X but was undecided about the look of it. That said I always moan about people buying on looks not performance and it does seem to be a very good case for air-cooling. Just reading some reviews on it so you might just sway me in that direction ;)

I did want a NZXT at one point but they do look a bit plastiky (real word?!) from the pictures...

Seems to me all the cases I've looked at have one weakness or another. Thinking I should just got for a CM690 II Adv myself until something "perfect" comes along. Also wondered about the Fractal Design Arc but need to see some reviews first...

I agree with the RV02. I have one great case for air cooling only niggle is the way the HDD's are installed ( not easy to get out and without having to take a few things apart)

Archon is 170mm in height so make sure you get a wide case... one of the tallest coolers on the market. personally I like the look of the new Cubitek cases, yet to see any feedback on them though but from initial thoughts, they look like lian li but cheaper

What you need then is the RV02-E which fixes the dumb HDD mounting in the RV02. Unfortunately OCUK still seem to only have the RV02 but the RV02-E is available elsewhere.

I've got a FT02 myself which is basically the same as the RV02-E but made from aluminium so more expensive :(

This is the 600T I bought for him. PSU installed to give a sense of scale.

Now the pc is all built up I'm very glad I chose this case. :D

Yes Lisa A, I had a look at the specs of that case and it is pretty wide which seemed a good option with tall coolers. I don't know why more manufacturers don't make wider cases? Thinking about it I see people with height or depth issues but most would be able to accommodate a wider case...

Happy Phantom owner here. Great cooling, though it is hard to get fans for it!
the inbuilt fan controller is a very nice touch too. I have found it to be fairly sturdy. Some people have questioned the build quality of these cases, but i can't see it myself.
There is a hell of a lot of room inside as well!

i was in the same position as you, looking at exactly the same cases, and in the end it came down to the Phantom, 600t and Fractal Full tower. I very nearly went for the fractal, if it is still on offer, i might go for that.

edit- it is still on offer, a great deal.:)

Not a bad deal. However I seem to be warming to the Phantom. Looks to have some potential, may change my thoughts on the cooler... The price is pretty good too...which colour though? ;)
