Hyundai Getz

Update: 1.3 Hyundai seemed too expensive for insurance so we're looking at Corsa's and other cars around £2k. Anything to avoid or keep my eye out for? Adding a parent as a drive dropped the insurance to £1600 with a 1.0 Corsa.

Where is the car being kept?

A 1.0 Corsa w/parent as named driver still shouldn't come to 1600 - although that's obviously better than 3300 so I can only assume the area has a bad reputation with insurers.

Did you try admiral? Also try adding mum and dad or mum and aunt anybody family wise who has a good track record. Possibly yourself you just have to try all the diffrent options. £1600 isnt to bad but I think you could go below the £1500 mark!

Quote done with Admiral and her mum as a named driver. Had a quick look at a Yaris found one with only 80 miles on the clock! Insurance quotes are from online comparison site we've yet to make a call for a quote. I presume/hope they will be much cheaper sub-£1000. Thanks for everyones input.

In all my quotes Admiral are awful. My insurance is up in a few months. 2005 Focus 1.6, 2 drivers in mid 30s, licenses held for 15+ years with no points/penalties, no claims bonus of 1 year (due to not owning a car until recently, not crashes), east london...£2375.

£2375 to insure a 2005 Ford Focus for two 35 year olds. Riiiight. The car is probably only worth 5k, probably less.

On the other hand RAC want £600.
