If you're thinking of joking/putting down JEDI in the 2011 census, don't. Here's why...

Secular would have been a better word to use in this case than Atheist.

No it wouldnt, as that implies a very specific agenda that people may not have. Not being a member of a religion doesnt mean you are a secularist either.

You can see why I ignored the question.

So what exactly are secular atheists meant to fill in?

If you dont follow a religion, then you select no religion. That makes sense to me.

Fine, however as your assumptions have shown the question is too ambiguous for me, I am neither of a religion or a secularist or an atheist, and too many people will use the no religion answer to justify secularist agendas, something I dont generally support.

It was best to simply ignore the question entirely and leave it blank.

Just what are you then, what do you consider yourself to be?
Agnostic?

Ignostic for now.

Although the more I discuss religion, belief and cultural influences the more I find it increasingly difficult and in some ways pointless to label myself at all.

Is satanist allowed. I read a usa prisoner won a case to be allowed a place of worship for his devil region, not sure if that included sacrificial goats

I quite enjoyed the act of ripping up my 2011 census form and chucking it in the bin, very satisfying.

You know you could have just not used your real name and filled the rest in accurately if you are concerned about privacy.

Well done, very brave of you.

Took me less than ten minutes to fill it out online and I now won't have to bother with reminder letters, knocks on the door and possibly a fine.

Your two seconds of action may now result in all of the above.

Like I say, well done.

Paying up a £1000 to the Govt will be very satisfying also I presume....

Do you know what will be even more satisfying? When you get a £1000 fine and we all laugh at you.:D

Haha! the census police are out in force today! Hey! You didn't ask me if i'd submitted the online form before destroying the paper copy.:p
