We all know the show is scripted entertainment just the same as any other comedy or drama series, and the BBC has even admitted that the tesla didn't run out of charge but wanted to show what "could" happen.
But when your dealing with somebody's commercial product, and publicly slating it the world over for something that didn't happen, you can go too far.
Did they go too far with the tesla tests ?
My feeling is no, its entertainment at the end of the day, people should be able to read between the lines. What next ? a short statement from denise van outen at the beginning stating the events are created purely for own enjoyment and may not be true as happens with "the only way is essex"?
Is that the level top gear is going to have to go to avoid yet more wrist slapping form the daily mail brigade ?
