Battlefield 3 is it gonna be another bad console port?

I've watched most of the videos released for BF3 I just don't believe them when they say it's developed solely with PC in mind and then will be ported to console.

Well with no commander mode it has changed right off the bat from BF2 imo.

Console port or not (the fact that anything is a port is irrelevant), the trailers for BF3 look majestic, and I can't wait to play it.

I concur, I actually like Crysis 2, and my preorder for Battlefield 3 is already in with Amazon.
 
The fact that its going to be developed for 64bits, and that its dropped support for xp altogether, indicates (hopefully) that it will be a DX11 PC focused game, and then ported to the consoles rather than the other way round.

They know the pc community is starving at the moment for a pc centric AAA title, and they want to milk the situation, so i hope to go, they dont get it wrong, becuase if they get it right, we are going to get one hell of a game.

Also infinity ward must be quaking in their boots. They MUST release a CD game that catches up this time around, or they are going to fall even further behind, when BF3 is released.
 
Commander is just annoying though.

The premise is nice but all it is is "spotted x" spam. Yes, when done well it is a good feature but that's rare.

LOL no, people who are moaning about crysis 2 is due to promises and dumbed down gameplay.

back on topic, BF3 may look great but does it play like BF2? i do not want BC2 with a higher player count. im after a proper BF2 sequal. none of these tiny BC2 maps, lack of classes and COD style gameplay.

BC2 was a decent game but they tried to mix COD with BF2 and i hope they dont do the same with BF3.

Also, i heard BF3 has a 12 hour SP campaign? i blooming hope dice did not focus most of there attention on SP because lets face it, past BF games were MP focused and rightly so. if i wanted to play a SP game i would buy COD or crysis 2.

i dont mind a game having best of both worlds so long as it doesnt impact one of the other. you either implement both SP and MP mode to its fullest or just concentrate on one aspect only

BF3 is made from scratch for PC and ported to console.

Also, please read crytecks forum a few months ago when they promised DX11 out of the box and a game made of pc's and ported to consoles.

both became untrue.

Stupid pointless thread..... the entire PC community will be playing BF3.... if its better than BC2 then it will be a hit!

I cant be bothered to read these pointless threads any more!! BC2 proved to dice that they have more people playing BF on the PC than both console 2gether, DICe have always said BF was founded on the PC and thats how it will remain, its 64 players something which the consoles can not support so in answer to the OP it wont be "another bad port"

On a better topic Battlefield 3 Fault Line Episode 3 is due out in min now!!
 
yup exactly but because my expectations are low, my reactions would be something like "why am i not surprised" while others will be like "OMG WTF, HOW COULD U DO THIS, U RUINED MY LIFE"

It cannot possibly be a port. DX 10 and 11 ONLY for starters.

Get the feeling I may even need to turn settings down for this one. I can understand why most people will feel that way, but even BFBC2 was a pretty damn good effort considering they had to make it for console platforms aswell.
 
lol obvious bait but if you can play bfbc2 youll be fine ;)

bfbc2+moh = bf3 .

as for developers tbh they all chat balls :p

this is Dice we are talking about, and not some crack heads like failtek. BF3 will be the king of all mp games until CS2.

wait for mp footage in few months. then judge the game
