Great Bands With Terrible Names

There are some really good bands with very poor names.

Off the top of my head I can think of:

Toad The Wet Sprocket
An Emotional Fish
Kitchens Of Distinction

Three really great bands but what were they thinking of when dreaming up a name for them?
Anybody got any other examples?

Goo Goo Dolls (used to be called the Sex Maggotts so I guess their current name isn't so bad!)

In my experience this is the case. Every band with an extravagant name is trying way too hard to be alternative and impressive, with not enough natural talent to make decent music.

lol my bands name is DIEZEL
I had no say they picked it then told me what it was gonna be

I prefered reloaded as we were loaded but had to change the name

There's some brilliant bands with extravagant names. I would list them but they're mainly post rock bands. It seems to go with the territory.
