I believe lot of people fixed the artifact (the red/green dashes everywhere as you call it) with the baking method. But if that fails, I think basing on what you using the card for you would be better off trying to get a 2nd hand 8800GT or 9800GT 512MB for around £35-£40. Yes it would be slightly slower than the 8800GTX, but should be more than enough for what you need it to do, plus it's lower power consumption than the 8800GTX.oven trick sounds fun!
the card still boots to windows..but once in theres lots of red/green dashes everywhere
could that be the memory on the card? will the oven trick still work ?
also the card is only for general office work .........and a few games when bored so it dont really need to be high end
I think you'd much better off getting a new 5850 for £107.99 than a 2nd hand GTX280 for £100.or a second hand evga 280gtx £100
what do you reckon are they similar in performance as i,d prefer new if possible.
i thought you had to put a ball of tin foil on each corner otherwise you would kill the card??![]()
