Bank teller implied I was a coke dealer

I'm also going with possibly checking to see if you are giving over drug money due to laundering crime.

He asked you what you do....
The bank has on record in your files what you do as an occupation, I'll give you that it's not always up to date, but he should be able to know what you do without asking.

The fact that you refused to answer and said "do I look familiar" is a really weird answer.

Finally the fact that you had a large of amount of money in a roll.

It may be judgemental, but I don't think you helped.
At the end of the day, a bank teller see's everything from the poorest to the richest and the bad ones inbetween. If it's anything like some of the drug dealer types I see around here, they are quiet happy to flaunt that they keep money in rolls and such. It's probably behavior he has seen from actual drug dealers... funnily enough if after doing what he did, if the guy suddenly offered the teller some drugs, he could call the Police and get rid of the scum... good job I say!

Surprised at the replies so far. People are more concerned with being funny than giving a serious reply. Wouldn't anyone find this slightly insulting if it happened to you?

erm no - I think you've got a bit of an imagination and you're reading far too much into someone who's a bit nervous (you noted his quiet voice) fiddling/shuffling about etc.. with your bank card.

If he suspected you were a drug dealer or attempting to launder money then the last thing he'd want to do is actually notify you of this.

You've also failed to state the amount of money you were trying to pay in.

That's crazy Lysander!! I would totally dob him in, I can't believe he'd do that to a customer in public, didn't other people in the queue notice what was going on?

Should have said something there and then.

How much were you putting in? I put over £3k in notes today, big bloke bald with sunnies on, bloke behind counter didn't take any notice.

Either you look dodgy or are a known weirdo.....

Well he would be caught on camera gesturing that to you surely. So if whoever watches the tapes has seen it and reported it then well it isnt ur fault it is his for doing that in a bank where there are cameras about.

Daft sod. haha.

i wouldn't have accepted it. i'd have called a manager over, caused a scene and got him to check the cctv for proof. once proven, i'd have made it quite clear i was willing to take it all the way to the top. this would be major bad publicity for a bank, especially under the current feeling from a lot of the public to the banks. i'd have been looking for a compensation settlement no doubt.

Something happened in our bank just before christmas which lead to us being a accused of being homophobic - we got followed by a journalist. Ever heard of this? No because no press cares. Its a not a story because it could all be his imagination.

I think the post is a bit attention seeking tbh. As if to say "how cool am I, people think im a dealer y0" Like you might have done when at school, or of an equally young age.

What makes it worse, is the absence of the quantity of money that was deposited.

Its almost like it was omitted due to the amount being too small to qualify as impressive!

Oh get over yourself. It's hardly an issue worth noting tbh.
