Massive good luck to my home side of Widnes tomorrow for the announcement at 11.30am.

We should have been there four years ago and we should definitely be there now based on the criteria the RFL put out.

If they don't get it, I can see some serious lawyering up occurring!

Hope they get rid of that welsh team.

Nah, it'll be Wakey that take the cut. I totally agree that they should ditch the Welsh team though! Are they even Welsh any more? They've been moving them round Wales hoping to get a following of more than 3 people...

I really hope Widnes get the nod. Good stadium and a real Rugby league town. They didn't get a fair crack 4 years ago. I fancy Wakefield will get the chop as well - they are still in their medieval stadium despite all their promises.

I can see the benefits of Crusaders (even its just because its a good day out on the pop :)

I'd expect Widnes to join the SL and Wakey to drop out. I would really like Crusaders to go though. The reason they were brought in was to build Rugby League interest in Wales. Considering that Wrexham is a mere 15 miles or so from Widnes, I really don't think that counts as a true Welsh heartland.

Personally I'm hoping Halifax get a deserved spot back in the super league, although I disagree in principle with having a closed league like they currently do.

Widnes for me. Used to love the Warrington/Widnes derbys. Would give us someone to play on Magic weekends also rather than just being palmed off with whoever when it's Wigan/Sts and Leeds/Bradford.

Can also see Wakey going. If they hadnt had the problems with administration and actually got at least some plans on the table for the stadium they may have stayed up, but with Cas doing so well this and last year i cant see wakey staying up. Once they drop i cant see a way back for them either.

Really wish I could have been there today! Stuck in Reading where no one cares about Rugby League :( The atmosphere must have been immense!

I think Cas are safe. I don't think they'll ditch two heartland teams, Cas have just sold their ground for a fortune and they look like a play-off team at the moment.

Anyway, congratulations Widnes. Long overdue
