I've been burgled, WTF!

Just got home from work and my missus starts freaking out about her lappy going missing. I assumed she'd misplaced it, but it actually is gone, as is the power cable.

Nothing else in the house is missing or out of place, all windows/doors are and were shut and locked all day. no one else has keys except the landlady and estate agent. No forced entry visible anywhere. WTF do I do?

PS, thank god they left my rig

Sounds bizarre, you positive that all windows are ok?

Did you have a set of keys near the door that somebody could have reached from the letterbox etc with a tool?

Are you 100% sure it's been stolen? Seems a bit weird that there's no sign of forced entry and all they took was the laptop.

She's left it at work/at a friends/somewhere else, I'd bet. It'd be astonishing if all they took was a laptop and the cable.

That might be all the could get out / had the balls to get out.

I was burgled years ago, the ****ers jumped through an open window, took my wallet and phone on my desk and legged it out. In the five minutes it took me to wash my face for a night out as well. :/

now back to serious face. if you are sure its been stolen (no broken entry or anything else missing is very strange) then the police is your first port of call then the people who have the others keys possibly to see if theres anything amiss. Make sure she hasnt just taken it to work/her friends or something and forgotten it.

She never took it out of the house, left it in the middle of the sitting room and now it's gone. It's definately not here, and we checked every window was locked (they always are). I can't think of any way off the top of my head to track the laptop unless you guys can?
