Hey guys I haven't posted here much before, forget I had an account! lol.

Anyway I have a HAF932 Case, AM3 Mobo and recently bought an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 cooler (was using stock up until I bought this 2 days ago) to cool my AMD Phenom II X4 955 which I found a bit disappointing to say the least:

Idle Temp: 34-41C
100% Load Temp: 63C

Bearing in mind to reach these temps at full load (during video encoding or P95 torture tests) takes literally under 2 minutes.

I installed the Cooler myself using IC Diamond 24 Carat Thermal Compound which seemed to have spread very well. The only problem I really see is the fact the cooler doesn't cover the entire CPU.

So I'm looking for some replacement cooler advice from the peeps who seem to know what they're talking about! I haven't really got a maximum price in mind but a good price:benefit ratio is always welcome :D

Cheers All!

I have a Coolermaster Hyper 212+ on my 955 @ 4ghz stock volts and and under full load it does not go above 58.c.. Great cooler for £15..

I may give that one a go cheers Moogleys!

I've been looking at the Corsair H50, has anyone got one? Are they any good?

I had one on my old 955 setup, they are no better than a decent air cooler costing half the price tbh... The new Antec one is meant to be better..

Put a viper on my 212+ and I idle @ 25 with a linpack temp of 48 (prime/games 45). Temps with the stock fan will be higher, because it idles at ~550rpm vz viper 950, and shifts less air then the viper at ~1400rpm (load). Not bad for less than £30 :)

The h50 will give you similar performance, but cost almost double. The advantage of water is it removes the heat from the case directly, but with good case fans/airflow that shouldn't matter. Oh, and the stock fan isn't the greatest (imo). Me, personally, would buy a cheaper cooler and add a viper and sped the rest of the money on improving case airflow.

Ah I see, in that case I think I'll give the H50 a miss :).

So you both recommend a 212+ with a viper fan? I'm not really looking to overclock my CPU but get a decent cooling solution since I play a lot of games on my pc and do a fair bit of video-encoding, so a good thermal:noise HS would be best as I want a quiet one yet something that will do the job while at load :)

I use the fan that came with the 212+ its more than up to the job and is nice and quite too....

Then I'll give it a go since my Freezer 7 Pro R.2 was so disappointing lol.

What average temps do you get while Idle and Prime95?
