Diesel Honda EK9

Isn't that like questioning any engine swap? It looks and runs how the owner wants, so for the owner at least its a good thing. Whether it will sell.......

I bet that's not a lot slower than the stock B16B Vita. 243bhp with all that torque, in a car that weighs about 1050kg...

bit bizarre though, he must have blown the original engine up.

Why do people do this? If Honda wanted it to have a Diesel Engine they would have put a diesel engine in from the start!

It's not owned by Honda though is it? It's owned by some dude who did 50K per year and loved his Honda to much to sell it. Simple really :)

I know it has a lot more power over standard and torque, yet I feel sad that it only revs up to 6k rpm. Do Honda Diesels have VTEC engagement?

How come it's only done 42k if he said he does 50k a year? Would be pretty nippy 250bhp in something like that!

Sorry but that really is a daft statement. You might equally say, why do people fit turbocharged Haybusa engines into Smart cars? Or why do people add turbos and superchargers to MX5s? Why do people modify cars at all?

In this case Honda didn't even have a diesel engine of their own at the time the car was made. They had to use the Rover L series diesel in the later European Accord and Civic until they developed their own engine.

I literally have no idea how you can use an AEM EMS to manage a common rail diesel properly with the various ignition initiation injection and power injection phases.

No wonder its so much power, probably cant get it any leaner to control the power.

Ok. Why do people make 535d's look like M5's? I was stating it from that approach. By all means if it is a diesel and goes like the figures in the advert then it must be very quick.

Not a lot slower? I'd say it would be significantly faster if it's still got the original gearbox on it.
