Putting together a hot gaming rig. Is it that good?

btw anyone got good article dual channel vs triple channel memory? I think triple channel mem is the next thing!

It was a joke - sandy bridge with dual channel memory is faster than nahalem with triple channel memory (unless you are exclusively running memory bandwidth and latency benchmarks) - but nahalem costs a bit more all-in.

Have a look at this review.

Bulldozer will use hexa-channel memory, have 12 cores and be called kate (which is short for Bob). It'll need its own power station and will support xxx-fire (so fast that your xxx collections will come to life).

I do really wanna make a kick ass system not braking my bank and as I've mentioned before not been in desktop world for a while. So why people show such little patient and understanding and looking to nuke me from orbit with BFG already?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-174-OE

with x2 480's and use onboard 7.1 sound to save money!

And if I had money no object situation i'd get this sytem:

But I thought you didn't like getting help?

.
Can i not do my own thing on this forum without being judged and looked down at, for christ sake, whats the piont, i know i should nad could have asked for help, but there will be times when no ones there to help and you have to be independent.
i know the help is good to be there, but id rather learn myself, and gain the exepeerence than being told what i did wrong.

Do you feel like we are giving you **** again?

i just find it hard to belive every time i post on this forum i get a load of **** in return li "ask first" and i want help, but i want help when i ask for it? there no piont telling me to do something elese after ive already done it, and in reality, its my build and its my choice, weather its yours or not you still dont have to critasise me as you currently are doing.

I see you have decided not to build a pc in the end. Are you scared you might get thermal paste on the motherboard again? Shame, I was looking forward to you doing it again and calling the mods stupid :P

Whos ZZZAC...?!?! The guys at OC done such fantastic job of making the tyrannosaurs system that I feel i'd just mess things up if i were to do it my self. And order stage 4 overclock at 25% faster on all components. Has anyone ordered that stage before? What exactly do they overclock? thanks

What's a stage 4? It doesn't mention it on the "Ultima Tyrannosaur" product page.

It just says that the CPU will be overclocked to 4.6GHz (35% overclock) and everything else is running at stock speeds.

As for SLI GTX 480 - you will need to contact them about this before ordering it as the GTX 480 is quite a different card to the GTX 580. They may suggest a PSU upgrade before they are prepared to guarantee the system will run stably. As for which GTX 480 to get - the Gigabyte Special Edition looks like the best option, but running two of them in your system will still get pretty hot.

Will get the one and only best 480 ever - SOC

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-079-GI

"performs to within 5% of a GTX 580 and is quieter and cooler to boot. For this price you cannot get a better card" hahah ownd

Just been reading few posts that numerous people have been problems with this card so might settle for more stable one 460 SOC which is nearly gtx 470 performance... 2 x 460 soc sli will last few years for sure!

As you mention, there have been many issue with the SOC GTX 480, hence why I would suggest going for the SE instead (its also only £200 at the moment).

As for the GTX 460 SOC, its a nice card - but for your uses (running three monitors in games) I wouldn't recommend it, since it only has 1GB of video RAM.

you know all this kick ass stuff, but you dont know what gets oc'd?

its been a couple of months since i heard about ocing and i know what gets oc'd
