Hey there!

So anyway, I recently purchased a Asus P8P67-M before the B3 revision came out so it is vulnerable to the chipset problems etc etc. But i'm looking to upgrade my motherboard to something more "Gaming" orientated, like the Asus P8P67 PRO but what do you guys think? I would like the stick with Asus as they have been good to me so far :)

Also I was just wondering about the process of upgrading a motherboard, if I was sticking to a simular mobo would I need to re-install windows? And if I did, what would I do about activating windows again?

Thanks for your help guys! :D

If you stick with the same board you won't need to reinstall windows, that's my plan. I doubt Asus would swap for a non-identical board, so you'd have to get another P8P67-M and sell it.

If you do upgrade the board, then you always have the option of sli etx in the future, i have the deluxe version and its an amazing board. and even lets me quad sli if i could afford 2 590s or 2 6990s

In that letter it says "This includes the hassle-free return and/or replacement of all affected ASUS products. We’re doing all this effective immediately – and as a first step, shipments of current ASUS Sandy Bridge-based products have been halted".

So they're offering returns or just replacements? I sent an email to them weeks ago but have not got an answer.

Does anyone know if they're actually offering refunds or purely replacements where they pick the old board up and you'll have to wait up to 2 weeks for the new board to be delivered?

Thanks for the all the replies!

I've seen the delux and the pro, but cant really decide btween the two. What are the differences?

And +1 to this, as this would be a much easier process, but selling the board of ebay isn't out the question for me :)

replacements only, if your after a refund, you have to take that up with the retailer who supplied your mobo.
