Getting iPhone 4 footage onto an iPad for editing

Without a laptop, so you can edit your movies and upload to YouTube while out and about. Is it possible ?

Disappointingly it seems not, which is a massive oversight considering the appalling quality of the iPad2 camera.

Camera connection kit?
I use it to move pictures on to my iPad from my iPhone all the time. No idea if one can then edit in imovie. I've not tried.

You can import anything from photo album you put there so it should work

Emailing drops the quality of the video, it won't send through at its recorded 720p.

I was trying to figure out how that would work and then realised its obvious: iPhone - sync lead - usb camera kit - ipad and the iphone presents itself as a digital camera just like it does in windows so you can see all the pictures/videos to copy onto the ipads local storage. Is that how it works in practice? If so thats quite a neat solution.

Yes, I use it that way frequently. Means I can edit photos on the iPad while on the move then upload to Flickr.

Yes you should be able just to import videos in exactly the same way.

If your on a wireless network you can use 'Simple Transfer'

I just got this last night to transfer all my photos and videos from my iphone4 to me ipad2.
It transfers the files in 100% quality/resolution.
It copied over 1100 photos and 40 720p videos in no time (30mins)

Universal app. only £1.19 if I remember correctly.

Definitely worth it!

It transfers vids just fine. I've never tried editing them on the iPad though.
