What a lot of arguing over some reams of paper.

I don't agree with burning any book, but seriously - it's going to be some mass produced copy, not like the original scriptures, or anything of any real, literal value.

It would appear the beheading of Nepalese guards at a UN compound is the appropraite way to protest such actions if one lives in Afghanistan....

Clearly the Nepalese UN and this pastor have links I don't quite comprehend but the chumps in opiumland do.

Who cares what Westboro Baptist Church are up to. Religious fundamentalists doing controversial things....it's not newsworthy.

Well it would appear the Afghans who went out on a killing spree of people that had zip all to do with it, seem to be quite ruffled over the issue.

I have never understood the logic behind 'trying to get people who think differently to adopt your own point of view by massively provoking them'.

It hurts my brain.

The fact that you have a brain and actually engage it is the difference between you and them.

You make a good point Castiel, if western media, US and european had ignored the fundamentalist chap and refused to give him any sort of platfor, the afghan would never have heard of him.

Although, now this alleged Christian minister has the deaths of innocents on his hands, I ponder if he will feel the need to justify his take on the forgiving grace of God as taught by Christianity, or perhaps the tolerance of that which is different as reported taught by Jesus Christ, or if he'll stick to his hate filled guns and continue to cause disharmony as Satan would prefer him too ;)

Given the global coverage this rec'd last time round, I was quite surprised it managed to stay so low key. The burning took place nearly two weeks ago..

Now the cat is out the bag, there will be more deaths to follow, no doubt.

You know for once, I think they done the right thing by ignoring it. Since this is the first I or any of you had heard of it.

What a mess Afghanistan is, Afghan army saying they where unable to stop/control it and the UK/US want to have over power to Afghan, lolwut

It was stupid to burn it in the first place as its clearly going to cause a problem, but its much, much more stupid to get violent over it, but we expect nothing less.

I suppose the Islamic nutters would have killed someone anyway in future at some point, regardless of this burning. Not quite right in the head.

Quite.

Media induced hysteria. If there was no spotlight on this self-ordained ultra Calvinist Pastor then he and his church would be isolated and forgotten.

Our seemingly unquenchable need for controversy from our media is sometime our worst enemy.
