Fifth gear last night?

I was intrigued to hear the Tarmac suppliedn for Yas Marina came from Shropshire, so i headed to google :D

From Shropshire to Abu Dhabi GP
Bayston Hill Quarry
850,000 tonnes of rock is extracted from Bayston Hill Quarry every year

Staff at Bayston Hill Quarry will have more than a passing interest in the Abu Dhabi and Bahrain Grands Prix.

Some of the world's best drivers will race multi-million pound machines on a surface supplied by the Shropshire quarry.

Four thousand tonnes of Bayston Hill's Graywacke aggregate was shipped to the United Arab Emirates in January 2009 to create the new Yas Marina circuit.

The surface been highly praised by both circuit bosses and Formula 1 drivers.

The Graywacke came recommended by race track builders in Bahrain, where it has been widely applauded for the high level of grip it offers.

It's of national importance, the actual mineral reserve... It's something we're proud of
Site Manager Huw Evans

About 850,000 tonnes of aggregate is extracted from Tarmac's Bayston Hill Quarry every year, mainly for dressing road surfaces.

If you travel along roads in the West Midlands or North Wales, there's a good chance you're driving on stone supplied by the site.

Bayston Hill is regarded among the top four most important quarries in the country. Its cachet is expected to soar even further thanks to its Formula 1 customers.

While Tarmac's Abu Dhabi's customers demanded a very strict specification, the product is essentially the same as is found on the M6 toll road - which features 75,000 tonnes of Bayston Hill aggregate.

At 95 metres deep, 300m wide and 1km long, the scale of Bayston Hill Quarry is both impressive and significant, as manager Huw Evans explained, "It's of national importance, the mineral reserves... it's something we're proud of."

Yeah I enjoyed it too, though the program is a little short, especially once you factor in all the adverts and competition breaks. Interesting content though. Surprised they like the X3, I really can't see the point of such a vehicle!

Meh. Short, sweet but not the 'peoples' car program is it? The next one is just full of expensive cars. No ordinary reviews, even that X3 review was a bit shallow.

I guess because not many people are interested in the new kia or the 1.4 fiesta. If you want to see/drive them you can go to your local showroom. :)

Quite enjoyed this myself, I cant help but think it would be better if it was just Tiff Plato and Vickie and it was extended to 45 minutes though.

Just as awful as ever imo. The whole GTR test was invalidated by using two different drivers so a waste of time really. The X3 piece was train wreck TV, was cringing the whole time through that whole individual piece to camera thing. The SD1 thing was ok, although it felt like I'd gone back in time.

Is there anything like this on Satellite? I'm not allowed a dish where I live, but I'm moving out soon. Used to like watching Wheeler Dealers (not for Mike Brewer) but for the talented Edd China who used to polish proverbial turds with relative ease. Fun fact about Edd - he holds the Guinness world record for fastest furniture at 92 mph and his motorised bed and sofa were used in the video for the Supergrass song - 'Alright'. I'm sure you'll remember that one.

Anything like that on nowadays?
