Recently discovered that I love post rock. I cannot explain this song's beauty, it deserves a thread of its own. This band is amazing. I also like If These Trees Could Talk.

So uhm.. discuss?

Post-rock is so hipster, yo.

I find a lot of post-rock dull but this is OK. Long Distance Calling and Russian Circles are the only post-rock I really like.

Try this out for size as well.

First band that sparked my interest. This Will Destroy You has topped them though.

When someone says post rock to me the two bands that immediately spring to mind are Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky.

Thanks. :) When it comes to music genres I get totally confused, I find it far easier to remember artist and band names that I like regardless of genre.

Post-Rock is wonderful stuff. I really enjoyed TWDY's first EP, Young Mountain. It was great. I haven't really been keeping up with them recently though.

I shall proceed to post some more excellent Post-Rock fun songs because that is what is required.

65daysofstatic (up there with 'gwai and eits as genre kings)

And So I Watch You From Afar (absolutely brilliant live)

God Is An Astronaut

Jeniferever (warning: may contain singing)

Maybeshewill (excellent)

Sigur Ros (c'mon, surely you must know of these guys?)

??? (rururu - japanese band, kinda hard to find but worth it, also have singing)

Great stuff there. I'm especially interested in 65daysofstatic and Maybeshewill. :)

Five of the bands mentioned in this thread have played the venue where I work in just the last couple of years. All great stuff, but hard on the ears :)

The two most recent additions to my post-rock playlist are Caspian and Collapse Under The Empire (I can't link to any vids as YouTube is blocked from work I'm afraid).
