Best way of cleaning a screen?

How does everyone clean their screens?

I have bought screenwipes from a computer shop before and felt they left too much residue - is there anything better?

If the screen is glass I use distilled (or de-mineralised) water with Isopropyl alcohol in equal parts. Dampen a microfiber cloth (I use screen shammy from falconsafety) and wipe carefully to clean. Then wait for screen to dry and lightly buff.

If the screen is plastic then don't add the Isopropyl alcohol.

Don't use normal water as it will smear white because of the disolved minerals.

For day to day dust I use a micro fibre cloth that was supplies with my monitor. Otherwise I have used a very slightly damp piece or two of kitchen towel, apply to the screen, then wipe off with a couple of dry pieces. Seems to work generally ok.

the same way i clean my monitor but instead of kitchen towel i use micro fibre cloths & it does the job perfect. :)

Hot soapy water :)

Joking aside, I'm quite bad at keeping it clean, it gathers dust far too easy as it's black gloss. I just use the little blue wipes that come with screens or a duster.
