Hi, the title says it all really, I saw Jurrasic Park in cinema when I was younger and was blown away as am sure was the rest of the world, but surely out of the millions of films in existance this surely has to be top of the list for best 3D comeback!

I'd pay triple to see this in 3D, would be so worth it, and after that Star Wars! :)

Star Wars 3D is coming at the end of the year. Personally I'm not fussed, 3D adds nothing to MOST films. The ONLY good use of 3D is Avatar and thats really down to James Cameron focusing the whole production on it being 3D. Post-processing looks crap and I'm not expecting to particularly enjoy the 3D Star Wars. What I will enjoy though, is just seeing Star Wars at the cinema again!

It would be pretty good if done properly, but properly to me is filmed wth 3D cameras so... Jumping Raptors, the T-Rex chase scene..!

Ah well, 2D is should remain.:(

On a side note the theme tune still sends a shiver down my spine when I hear it.:D

The final scenes when the T Rex bites the Velocoraptor and then the Jurassic Park banner falls always give me goosebumps

Oh right, I didnt realise it wouldnt be the same quality 3D as avatar, so your saying if they dont shoot the film in 3D orgionally then it wont really work, be as effective as avatar was?

Well, I just thought seeing the dinosaurs half way out the screen would be awesome in theory, but if they cant do it properly, then guess they shouldn't bother at all.

You know, someone should make a cinema where they release old films that people want to see, dont you think it would be a good idea?

I've never seen an old film at cinema before...I'd like to see star wars, jurrasic park, oldboy, terminator 2 etc etc....they could even setup a website where people vote for films that should come out....so say the website existed, I'd log on to the site today, I see terminator 2 has 200,000 votes to be released to UK cinema this week and just needs to get to 250,000 votes so then loads more people vote, it reaches 250k and beats another film which got 248k votes which will just come out the following week...it could be a system like that, just an idea anyways but what do you guys think?

Really??? Source please.

If it wasn't shot in 3d as avatar was, then surely all they are doing is adding the odd rubbish effect thru cgi postprocessing.

Whats the point bar spinning lucas more money? Won't make epis 1 2 3 any better in storyline thats for sure, won't improve the bad direction or poor acting.
Gahh I slowly wish Lucas would hurry up and die so he can't release more rubbish money spinning drivvel.

Plenty of these about actually, showing many, albeit more 'classic' films (for example, Brief Encounter, Casablanca, that sort of thing) such as - the BFI in London, Cornerhouse in Manchester and the FACT (very rarely) in Liverpool.

They're not as big as the Odeon say but they are there.

I'd quite happily pay Odeon prices to see Jurassic Park in 2D. In 3D i'd only be disappointed - and feel ripped off.

1. Set up website for people to vote on which old film they want to see at cinema.
2. ??????
3. Profit!!!

I love original JP as a film - it was absolutely fantastic for its time (pity they had to make the other two though) , personally think it would look ropey today , given how some of the way Hollywood do effects etc but I still eagerly await the BD when it comes out

As for converting to 3D - personally thought Avatar was worse than terrible (even apart from giving me a headache) and 2D to 3D conversions are usually worse than films originally shot in 3D so leave JP alone

I adore Star Wars and would love one day to have a home cinema worthy of showing it at its best (giant screen and bone rattling sound) but again I have no interest in the 3D version at all - I MAY go and see it in the cinema next year but the 2D BD is day of release purchase for me (complete set with all extra discs)

I agree 100% with the OP, Jurassic Park is one of my favourite films ever.

Would be so win in 3D.

Also The Alien series in 3D would be sweet. Altho the end of Alien 1 in 3D might give people a slight headaches lol.
