Mothers Day - What are you doing?

My my there are some miserable old **** around. :p

On another note, I've just had a call back from the restaurant to say they are fully booked EEEEKKKKKKK

Now I'm in trouble!

I imagine then you don't bother with buying your family birthday presents or xmas presents either since that would be conforming to the social norm, and you've already done so much for them during the year?

Why must one purchase materialistic goods on a Christian celebratory day which was conceived from a Pagan celebration and/or also on the day that you were born? It's illogical to me that social-convention demands that you must do this. I respect people's choice to do so for various reasons, however who are you to judge people that don't?

I don't purchase anybody anything for any holidays, whether they be social, religious or birthdays. I don't need to purchase material-goods to show my love for my family, and I certainly don't feel the need to show 'appreciation' for my mother on one particular day, I respect and care for her everyday, and simply don't go to any trouble to do so on 'Mothers Day'.

Got my Mum a card and present, staying at home for evening meal which. My sister is taking her to the local Garden Center.

Got her a nice big card 3 presents & one of those snazzy bags to put it all in, She'll love it.

Stop thinking about what matters to you and start thinking about what matters to your mum. Just because you think it's a waste of time doesn't necessarily mean your mum is of the same mindset, even if she says she agrees with you. For all you know she might be quietly upset you didn't take just a few minutes out of your life to buy her something.

Flowers, Chocolate & Wine for my Missus/Mum to my two boys. Would have loved to have done so much more but times are tough :(

Got her some chocolates and intend to spend most of the day with her. Shame I cant afford anything more, but she should appreciate the time much more :D

Card and flowers for me.. unfortunatley with the move I can't really afford much more but she understands :)

Well..I fitted a new mid position valve for her today and saved her a few hundred quid that a plumber would have charged her. Had to drain the system which required having to crawl about in the loft which I have also just finished installing a load of insulation.

No card but I wish I had ordered some chocolates or something though :(.
