Morning all,

Token-long-shot-thread:-

Am on holiday atm, but just had a phone call to say that the house has been burgled again, and amongst a shed load of other stuff, the car has gone.

Break-in is thought to have happened around 05:30 on Thursday morning... so if anyoe ses as Z4 shaped smoulding wreck anywhere, I'd appreciate a headsup... :)

Boo & Hiss! :(

Sorry to hear, must be even more frustrating not being near your home too.
Where abouts do you live?, if southwest will keep an eye out

Shame, and at the worst of times. :(

Impossible I know, but try to not let it ruin your holiday, you could have been phoned with worse news.....

FFS

Last thing you want to happen ever. But even worse when you're on holiday :(

Better that we weren't in the house tbh.

I was not best pleased a couple of yeas ago when I realised that some scrotes had had my brothers bike away, while I was in the ******* living room! I went to retrieve it with a fell axe as an equalizer, and fortunately didn't find them. That's not good for anyone. Much better that we weren't around at the time.

I read again...time to move???

You're not kidding. Was cleaned out in Jan 09, and had my brothers bike swiped on a 2 or 3 occasions before that. Trouble is, moving house is an expensive game, not least when savings are depleted by having to replace stuff that keeps going.

The real kicker is that I was putting off an upgrade as my z4 had pretty much finished depreciating. Not looking forward to the insurance quotes for an upgrade now... :(

Not sure yet whether we're coming home or not. First thought was that we wouldn't be able to enjoy the rest of the holiday and that we'd come home and start getting things sorted. Now I'm leaning towards trying to find some phone cards, and get some of the paperwork side of things started so we can get cracking when we get back.

Re Cntents insurance, yes we do have it, but it took over 2 years to get the last claim settled. Being somewhat uninterested in not having a TV at home for 2 days, let alone 2 years, it'll be a case of bashing the savings account and hoping for the best (again). Unfortunately, despite the god awful service from Halifax, I hadn't cancelled the insurance because I didn't want to give them any more reason to stall. The renewal came through last week, and I swiftly told them where to go, and renewed with someone else. That policy starts today, so I've got to do battle with Halifax again. :(

At the end of the day, it's just money and stuff thats gone, but it's the ballache of getting everything replaced and pushing the claim through, and getting over the invasion of privacy that's the main thing...

Grrr! :mad::(

Its been said before and it'll no doubt be said again, but people who burgle other people's property should be torn limb from limb. You work hard to provide for yourself and your family, and some **** think he/she can just take it from you

I'm gutted for you. Are you hoping to find the car in one piece and usable or would you rather see the back of it?

In a container already TBH :(

Doubtful, more likey in a quiet back street a short distance away for a few days while they check it for a tracker and then any number of things will happen to it.

I'd be surprised if it left the country.

Gone in 60 Seconds is not real life :p
