IronChef Foicite: well, there's a lot of reasons
IronChef Foicite: i mean, roses only last like a couple weeks
IronChef Foicite: and that's if you leave them in water
IronChef Foicite: and they really only exist to be pretty
IronChef Foicite: so that's like saying
IronChef Foicite: "my love for you is transitory and based solely on your appearance"
IronChef Foicite: but a potato!
IronChef Foicite: potatos last for ****ing ever, man
IronChef Foicite: in fact, not only will they not rot, they actually grow **** even if you just leave them in the sack
IronChef Foicite: that part alone makes it a good symbol
IronChef Foicite: but there's more!
IronChef Foicite: there are so many ways to enjoy a potato! you can even make a battery with it!
IronChef Foicite: and that's like saying "i have many ways in which I show my love for you"
IronChef Foicite: and potatos may be ugly, but they're still awesome
IronChef Foicite: so that's like saying "it doesn't matter at all what you look like, I'll still love you"

Taking my mum out for a meal tonight...she likes the local thai place so probably take her there...already got her a card which i gave to her this morning with £300 in it so she can go treat herself this week.

Flowers wilt and die in a week or so, i think it's an ironic metaphor for your love for your mum.

"My love is like picked flowers, it turns to mush in a few days and is thrown out"

Now, a potato - they start growing stuff man, that's a great metaphor.

"My love is like a potato, it will grow and grow and spawn more potatoes!"

Random.

Sounds like some of you treat your mums like you are a pimp more than a son.

Dont be a knob...after all that shes done for me, its only fair that i give her money to go treat herself...she doesnt work as shes 60 now and will be getting her pension soon so as her son, i live with her, its my duty to provide for her when she has done it for me for god knows how long and she still does to this day.

Funny thing is i know what my mum will do with the money that ive given her...she will go and spend it on me ie get me something instead...thats what i love about my mum...she never thinks of herself but others.

Just a day of remembrance for me, I usually like looking through some old holiday photos and remembering the good times I had with my mum :)
