VW Golf VI 1.2 TSI 85PS

You're just making sweeping, uninformed generalisations that's all. I agree that 85bhp in a car like a modern Golf might feel a bit lacking though. Although for purely city driving it should suffice.

Gibbo has hit the nail on the head.

The golf is still a big car for a golf. The new polo has the same dimensions as a mkII golf, which shows the upscaling trend of VW. The new golfs whilst nice do look bloated and are big.
Mk5 Polo is 57mm shorter than a Mk2 Golf actually ;)

Anyway, like I posted above, the Mk6 is all of 20cm longer than a Mk2.
It really isn't all that big at all.

Some cars really are getting big, and those would be Fords, amongst other things. The new Mondeo is positively enormous.

Stop being so soft. Getting argumentative with me because I said the new golf was big?

You could at least conduct yourself a little better whilst on the forum.

Also

MK1 Golf.

Length = 3890mm or 153.1 inches

width = 1640mm or 64.6 inches

height = 1410mm or 55.5 inches

New Polo.

Length = 3970 mm - 156.3 inches

Width = 1682 mm - 66.2 inches

Height = 1462 mm - 57.6 inches

Not sure how accurate the data is but a google search revealed this.

What's your point? The mk1 Golf is a 30 odd year old design, and was designed as a small city car, much like the Polo is nowadays. The fact that the new Polo is only 3 inches longer and 2 inches wider than this is pretty meaningless as the Polo was introduced further down the line.

And what's wrong with my conduct?

Absolutely no-one is as argumentative on this subject more than you are.

Sweeping statements, general rudeness, back tracking and the complete inability to listen to anyone who isn't staying something that you want to hear. Precisely the attitude that you don't expect from a mod.

Wow, this is a discussion forum, you know that right?

Careful people, disagree with a Don and you'll be smacked down.

My comment about conduct refers to how easily you wish to argue with me. Not the attitude we need on this forum.

It's a discussion forum. That means we can discuss, and occasionally disagree. Except I tend to do so without resorting to insults. If you don't want my 'attitude' on the forum, then ban me.

Yeah discussion forum, last time I checked I saw a member trying to start an argument because he doesn't agree with me. Fair enough disagree with me, don't have to be cheeky about it.

And morba you post is a load of BS, you don't get 'smacked down' for stuff like that however you can being a cheeky so and so ;)

Goodness, what I have unleashed in this thread!

Are we reading the same thread? :confused:

How is (quite rightly) asking you to put what you were saying into perspective starting an argument? :confused:

Didn't think there was much in it. Either way you get the idea!
I get the idea that the new Golf isn't very big.

The Polo has increased in size, I'll give you that. The Golf really hasn't though.
I was actually surprised as to how little it has grown!

It's actually a wee bit shorter than the Mk5.

Good move searching my previous posts. I know I was out of line then. However it bears no relevance to this thread.

All I post is a load of bs, or I post a load of bs?
I've been suspended a few times, if I'm doing wrong I expect no less.
As a don I expect more from you, but recently this seems to be common from the mod team (specifically posting in threads in Motors). The standard is clearly dropping.

No just your last post.

Maybe your opinion has something to do with the fact motors until recently hasn't been moderated all to well and tbh I don't think a lot of regulars in here like the frequent posting of mods.

You need to go find the deleted posts from valkia and before that a few other dons, who were told to calm themselves down.

No one thinks dons posting is a bad thing, if anything it's actively encouraged as you are one of the forum, one of us members. Most of the common posting dons have great cars and/or loads of knowledge, yet they are least vocal when it comes to supposed problems in the forum, it's always dons from other forums that seem to stir the pot :p

Hmm well I'll bring this up with him when I see him tomorrow.

In all honesty this thread has got outta hand partly because of myself and other members.

In relation to the OP the 1.2 tsi is better suited to the polo (lighter weight and smaller size) but if it is the golf you want then itvis still a good choice.
