Is it worth upgrading my GC the latest OCUK offer looks good.

I run Windows 7 64bit, 3.6 Core2Duo and 8Gig of Ram on an Asus P5E.

Cheers :)

Thanks. I don't really have the money. I'll have to break out the credit card! :)

How much to second hand 4850's go for at the mo?

I went from 4850 to GTX460 a few months ago. Despite horrendous trouble with motherboard/gfx card compatibility, the end result is a big improvement in performance.

Neil, I think it's 200. Drop Maccy a line to ask for inclusion, iirc it isn't automatic, you have to ask for access, could be very wrong though but he will set you straight :)

I Should have access then, Can't see it so maybe you have to ask to be included.

Hardly seems worth the hassle of selling the 4850 for £30 odd quid if your lucky. Could just hold onto it as a spare, or wait and see if a friend wants it.

5850 has been dispatched :)

I'm upgrading from the same card (4850 > 5850) and to be honest I'm finding the same, the card is worth so little that I'm just keeping it as a spare so in the unfortunate event of this one breaking I'll have something half decent to fall back onto.

I'm not sure m8 ... 4850s aren't that sought after though as there are 4870s and 4890s going for in between £50 and £60.

I recently watched 3 differant 4850s 1gb version on the bay to get an avg price as I was thinking of selling and upgrading as well. £47 was the max price and £42 the lowest.

I went from a 4870 to 5850 (second one coming tomorrow :D) and noticed quite a jump in performance.
