VXR Power Events - Now Booking

Hmm tempting.

On the booking form it says about you must own a Vauxhall though?

* Car Registration number required to verify Vauxhall ownership

Hang on, full day event instead of half day with "up to 1 and 3/4 hours track time"?

Last years half day got 3 hours track time? And these are now open to 160 people per day? Sounds like lots of standing around for not a lot of track time to be honest. Less interested now...

You don't read clearly :p

Track activity will include a full safety briefing, familiarisation laps and up to 1¾ hours of track time with 1 to 1 training from an ARDS qualified instructor. Cars on track will include Corsa VXR, New Astra SRi and Insignia VXR. There will also be the opportunity for a fast lap with one of our performance drivers. Other activities available will include a team karting event, drift experience in VXR-engined Westfields, Autotesting and a 4x4 experience in the New Antara.

[Edit]
Your briefing will be as a group. All in-car tuition is on a one-to-one basis except for the demo laps. Approximately 40 people per track session.

Booked Thruxton too :D Hoping to get a mate to come along but doubt the places will be around for too long.

Thanks for the remind OP. :)

Karting too though. :D Groups of 40 on track at a time so probably ~20 cars.

Win!

not bothering this year

going to be horribly over subscribed and with very little track time.

Are you not reading the website?

That's 1/2 the number of people per session than last year.. Unless I've missed something

Give me Croft. :(

Really want to attend as I haven't been before, but dunno if I cba travelling down to Oulton for 9am.

Ci, last year there were two 1.5 hour sessions per half day with about 30 people. This year there is either going to be one 1.75 hour session or two ~50 minute sessions over the whole day with 40 people. The other 'off track' stuff will just be a massive queue.

In previous years people complained the off track stuff was rubbish, and there wasn't enough on track time. Last year they dropped the off track stuff, and doubled the track time, everyone had an epic time. Now they have gone back to the original format, and have also dropped a load of the tracks.

Can anyone remember how many cars there were last year too? From what I remember at Thruxton there was about 5 Corsas, 4 Insignias and about 4 Astras ignoring the 'telemetry lap' cars?

There was not 80 people in our sessions last year so It's not half the people at all.

iirc last year it was about 50 places

so a bit less. But there were 30 cars last year.

It will still be the same ratio if they turn up with say 22 cars this year and 40 places.

I went the year before last and had a great time so can't compare it with last years.

A day of karting + track time is worth £95 imo. :) Can always leave after the track time if I get bored.

Just reading a bit more, its an all day affair now with :

"On track, drive Corsa VXR, New Astra SRi, Insignia VXR"
"experience drifting with one of our professionals at the wheel in a VXR-engined Westfield"
"rive the New Antara on a 4x4 course"
"challenge yourself on a head to head Corsa Autotest against the clock"

They did this format the year before last. Half the day will be spend on the track, then the other half spent doing activities such as the Antara, passenger lap in the Westfield and the Autotest.

But...

Event capacity: 160

Can't see how this is going to work, 40 people get 1/4 of the day on the track, or 80 people on track at once ...
