What car, 15k?

Looking around for a friend, with the following requirements

15k budget (slightly flexible either way)
Performance is not top of the list, although it should be over 140bhp
No more than around one years old
3 or 5 door
Seat at least 4 people
Small - mid size
A bit different/interesting/quirky (most importatant)

Difficult combination of factors to be given, and I can't come up with much for them. Any suggestions?

Number of doors - no preference.
Needs to seat 4
Looking for something small-mid sized. Nothing big.

I see no reason to pay the considerable premiums involved in owning such a car when the performance requirements are so modest.

Nope thats different in a bad way - although I agree its a good car, not the kind of thing that they are looking for. A bit overkill performance wise also.

Well, 15k doesn't have to be all spent, cheaper is an option.

They are quite nice little cars. My brother has a 2010 which I use from time to time and was quite impressed by it.
