i'm looking for recommendations for a silent upgrade for my i5-2500k as the stock cooler makes a racket and i also wanna dabble with overclocking

the cooler master hyper 212 plus seems the cheapest option ive found so far, im not looking to spend £60+ because i don't want to push for the fastest overclock as to be honest im blown away by stock performance as is.

Im just looking for a decent silent solution?

thanks

ok, i went with the gelid tranquillo after seeing others recommend it .

Got it fitted on my msi gd65 board but have to use dimms 2 & 4 as fan covers dimm 1

does this mean im not running in dual channel mode, as it's 1 & 3 or all 4 slots according to manual

and if so, how much of a performance hit is it anyways?

2 & 4 should be fine :) I believe dual channel is only 2-5%, although this is from my knowledge back in the DDR1 days..

cpu-z also tells you if you're running dual channel in the memory tab.
