BMW Concept M5

Much much better than the E60. It looks huuuge though (I haven't really paid any attention to the F10s).

"What's the *retail on one of those?"

*predicted

There isn't much love for the e60 these days, I love the shape though!

Would obviously like one, but I expected it to look better.

Why would you expect that? The base model has been out for a fair while now so everyone knows what it looks like. Every previous M5 has looked basically identical to the base model, why would this be different

It could be argued by whom? :p
Quite. The F10 is an infinitely better place to be than an E60.

However, I've never spent time in, let alone driven, an LCI E60..

big wings, huge air intakes and race car styling has never been BMWs thing, despite the BMW M cars racing heritage (in the M3s case at least)

Look at what it would be up against - RS6 which barely looks any different from the S-line model (usually, same subtle visual clues as the m5 has but thats about it) Mercedes E63 AMG, which suffers from a similar thing, the VXR8, which everybody agrees is too chav and ... the Jaguar XFR.

The jag is about the only one that makes a bold statement. The rest are all just subtly different from the base models. Thats the point in a Halo Car ..

Exactly. Every previous M5 has only had minor cosmetic differences requiring hardcore M nerds to spot them (different mirrors, wheels). This is no different.

Awkward looking front end and horrible wheels aside that is quite nice. Think they should have kept it more subtle looking but I doubt that would please their current customer base.

Wrong word I guess. Change 'expected' with 'hoping for'. :(

I'm just not too fussed on the F10 much at the moment, but I'll probably start to like it eventually like I did with the E90.
