VXR Power Events - Now Booking

Booked, must be the forth time im going :D

Im not sure how the new format is going to work but there was a lot of waiting around last year due to the group size so the time spent actually driving may improve because of the other events and the fact that its over a whole day.

Booked Silverstone with the missus plus my a mate is going too :) Ford fair is on the Sunday too ... now time to find a nice hotel with decent parking for Wed -> Mon. Any recommendations?

Booked the Stratford-Upon-Avon sprint night as £15 and only 45 mins away.
Will book one of the full days when I know I can have the day off.

Just a question. Are people like me and my mates (never driven a car in anger) going to be ok at events like this? or are we going to get laughed at and crash the car :D

No it's totally noob freindly, they don't give you a free reign like a track day - but it's a good introduction to track driving. Although there were some WOMEN braking on the Apex's last year and the intructors weren't best pleased.

Last year was the first time I'd been on a track and it was awesome, the instructors keep an eye on you but also make you push harder and harder each time. :D

Hopefully this year will be just as good.

Hmmm with mrlol on this one.

Seems like one session for 40 people and 4 sessions over the day. Last year it was about 50+ people with 20ish cars, but x2 sessions.

Not sure this year, will think about it, might have a go at silverstone.

Wanted to do the longer Corsa one, but sold out very fast :( Booked the normal Silverstone one though, did Thruxton last year so fancy a change.

Just booked on to the Silverstone day. Did Thruxton last year and although it ****ed down and it's not my idea of a great track, it was great fun for a first track day and I don't think you'd get anywhere near that sort of track time anywhere else for the money

Was that on one day? If it was I think it raining in the morning but the afternoon was dry for us

It's not the best track for exploiting the Corsa/Astra but the QEII was right at home. Doing 150+ down the back straigh was awsome! :D

I only wish the VXR8 was there too, and the ride with Matt Niel:eek::D:eek::D:eek::D:eek::D

We went in the morning. Couldn't see much until it cleared a little later on. My 3 passenger laps to be 'shown' the track were no help at all. My driver was on the grass at about 80 overtaking the others in **** all visibility with me perforating the seat with holding on for life! I was a nervous wreck before getting hold of the wheel :D

I had a lap with the BTCC guy later on and he was something else. I remember being megasidways looking through the rear windscreen of the car in front, which was about an inch away from my passenger window :D
