BMW Concept M5

point is they have a history of bad alloys, not unlikely that they wont put these on the prod car :p

BMW fail so much at alloys, very few they put on the proper cars are actually really good looking, especially when so many do suit the cars. All the recent M cars bar the CSL and E9x performance alloys have sucked, especially PeterNems crappy M6 ones! :D

Well the M6 wheels look amazing on the M6 but then again their odd non standard design suits the 6 series perfectly.

Do you absolutely question everything that doesn't fall into "your" opinion of good/bad looks or something?

There isn't another alloy wheel I have seen that's similar to the M6 wheel design and finish, it doesn't really fall into a standard design, it's spokes are thin, the wheels are huge and the gaps are also huge. They look great on an M6 because it is huge and it just goes....well, exactly that.

It seems to follow a similar 'thin spoke large diameter' wheel theme to other more common wheels in the range though? ie the Z4 M Sport wheel and F10 M Sport wheel, as well as the BMW Performance Style 313 wheel?

It looks like a massive E90 M3 from the rear side profile shots  The mirrors look absolutely ridiculous though!

The styling is quite obvious (and unique) though even from a distance. Even when the car is moving you can tell an M6 wheel from say, a style 313.

The most common theme they share is the dish/rim.

There's more difficulty telling apart the 313 and E90 M Sport wheels on the road...

No idea what you are on about now, you said the m6 wheels were unique in design, I gave you examples of other wheels with a similar thin spoke design so now you move the goal posts and go on about telling them apart when moving. Oh well.

I think the alloys are a throwback to the ones on the E34 M5

M5 looks 'ok' - but that's the whole point, could do with some BBS rimz' and a good paint job, but that wouldn't sell here

Style 313 wheels ming hard. Why not just put a 3 spoke alloy on it FFS. This isn't 1995.

172 19" alloys for the win, or the new 312 20" alloys for the win!
