Potentially ridiculous PFA list again

Warning, the leak of names is from the daily mail, but if true, daft.

Blackpool winger Charlie Adam is on the PFA Player of the Year shortlist but Nani is missing, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has revealed the six-man shortlist - collated from votes made by England's professional footballers - for the award.

Six different clubs are represented with Blackpool's Adam the shock name on the list alongside Nemanja Vidic, Carlos Tevez, Samir Nasri, Gareth Bale and Scott Parker.

Nani misses out but features on the Young Player shortlist which also includes Bale, Nasri, Jack Wilshere, Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart and Seamus Coleman of Everton.

Nasri is on both lists, yet Nani is only on the young players list, Nasri 9 goals, 1 assist, Nani 9 goals, 16 assists last time I checked.

Even stranger is PFA type lists are normally on recent form, Nani has been consistant all year, Nasri has scored 1 goal in 4 months.

Wilshire, Bale, Tevez, all deserved probably, no Kompany but Vidic, I know which is prone to last ditch rugby tackles.

Parker, he's great, he's a HUGE character in that team, but he's had quite a lot of pretty poor performances this year, but has been very good in the bigger games that get on TV.

So top scorer isn't on the list, and the top assist, and highest combo assist/scorer, both at the club looking to win the title, can't make the main list?

Terry has conceded less on the pitch with Chelsea than Vidic has with Utd, frankly Terry's been a beast this year, made very few mistakes and scored a few uber important goals. In that vein Huth has scored insanely important goals for a fairly rubbish Stoke, though don't think he should make the list.
No VDV, Arshavin, potentially even Nolan for being again being high scoring and consistant all year. Arshavin has EASILY been better than Nasri.

Joke of a list to be honest

It's shocking if Nani has missed out on the shortlist but hey he dives a bit so he shouldn't get it. Players don't seem to like him so I guess that's why he's not been shortlisted.

Shocking that Kompany isn't there either, he's not been as good as Vidic all season but he deserves to be on the short list.

Scott Parkers a funny one, whilst he's been good and dragged West Ham through their rough patches he can seem decidedly average in games I see him play, he couldn't dominate a midfield of Carrick and Gibson ffs.

Vidic - POTY
Bale - YPOTY

Bale has been good, but he's really only had one incredibly good month, but still consistant and a threat throughout. I think Ypoty should be Wilshire, people keep ignoring that he's an attacking player, playing as our DM, where he'd never played before, defensively he has been simply outstanding.

Parker as you said, he's actually been very average in a LOT of games this year. When West Ham are 1-2 goals up, its often Parker who starts the "lets slow it down" tactic, which instantly leads to them being utterly rubbish. Then he often gets in his panicky run the ball up the field himself and make a rubbish pass mode. Some games he's been epic, first half against Utd and the first 10 of the second half he was sliding in from seemingly 30 yards away and still nicking the ball cleanly off every Utd player, then he completely dissappeared.

He is good though, VERY good, but the teams lack of confidence is shared by him, he was MUCH more consistant last year and simply brilliant the year before. England call up = poty mention, standard really.

Anyway, if those lists are accurate I can't see past Nani for the Young players list, who won it while being basically stupidly old, was it Rooney or something like that last year or the one before? Wilshire 19 , Bale 22, Nasri, hart 23m Nani 24, Coleman 22, only Wilshire/coleman are in really their first couple proper years, Bale is the next closest, the other few have been in the EPL for a couple seasons minimum.

From that main list, Tevez is the only one who deserves it, Nasri or Bale would be ridiculous.

Why is Bale on that list!? The CL doesn't count for this award. Oh yeah, the players voted.

Go Jack, would massively deserve it.

Nani has to win one of them you'd think, which screws Jack completely, I think for this season, Nani for main and Jack for young would have been fairest, though you can't see that happening now.

Wilshire will have more chances, but its a shame theres such a big chance of him missing out due to the frankly ridiculous main list.

Yup I would go with Nani for the main and then Wilshere but hey it's the players picking these and they're a bit dumb if we're honest :)

Arshavin better than Nasri? Nasri has been awesome this season.

Adam on there is no surprise. Vidic on there is a surprise, Terry has been better.

As a Spurs fan, if any player should be on that list it is Modric, but like a lot of other players in other teams he goes largely unnoticed. He is the player that makes Spurs tick, Bale has been injured for fair chinks of the season.

Shame Kompany isn't on there as he has been amazing this year.
From that list I would choose Vidic although I am pretty sure Bale will win it.

Nani for 'young' player for me but Wilshere in with a great chance.

I dont think anyone would argue that even had Nani been on the list and won it he would be the least deserving player to win it for years, not saying that he hasn't been great for United this season but looking at the winners over recent years bar Giggs when he won it more out of sentiment all the winners have been by far the stand out performers in the league, I dont think Nani really fits into that category even though he has been very good for United.

Out of those in the list I'd probably guess Tevez will get POTY and Bale will get YPOTY

:D Can I have whatever you've been taking ? :p

Wilshire is a good shout for Young player, he's really come on a long way this season and his emergance on the International stage is doing him wonders as well.

No Nani is a bit odd, he's been very good this season.

It's a stupid shortlist, again... But I'm still in shock from DM saying Arshavin has been better than Nasri.

I think that has to go into DM's "highlights". Ah well, Vidic will win, Wilshere should win the YPOTY, as Nani shouldn't be on that list.

Everyone has really been won over by the media with regards to Bale. What has he actually done this year in the EPL

I'd rather see Modric on the last. He's been consistently brilliant all season.

However, I can see why Bale has been picked. He's always very entertaining to watch and has scored brilliant goals like this:

There's a statue of Nani outside of Craven Cottage. He's already got his reward for this season.

lol

wilshere probably deserves the youth award for how incredibly well he has stepped up. i really don't get the continuing fuss over charlie adam and bale isn't as important to us as modric. dawson deserves a lot of credit for his performances after coming back from injury, as does gallas.
