Who do you use?

I have asked CCI but they will not cover my car (Clio 172) for road and track on a single policy, so I am waiting for a quote for a single track day from them. The Moris site is recommended on ClioSport but there quote system is down at the moment for an unknown amount of time. Greenlight Insurance apparently offer track day cover for £50 a day if you are a policy holder with them, but they want almost double my current premium to take out a road policy. I don't know where else to look. It seems a combined road/track policy isn't going to happen so I will have to look for individual track day cover.

Any suggestions?

From what I know about track insurance there would be little point of you bothering to cover a 172 because the policy will cost a load, have a big excess and not cover you all that well.

I realise this isn't any help, but my mentality is: if you can't afford to loose your car, don't take it on track.

Have you done any track days before? If you go to a well organised day, it's as safe as you make it. If there are a couple of nutters on track with you, you'll get to know who they are quite quickly, and can let them pass/ give them more space.

Yes, I am finding this. Some places can offer cover for damage to track facilities like armco etc, but most just cover 1st part damage to the externals of your car. With a 172 its probably not worth it for just this cover.

Thanks for the input

from memory excess is normally a couple of grand or around 20% of the vehicle value, whichever is more. I seem to remember a quote on the CSL being about £4k excess.

He speaks a lot of truth though...

It's not cheap, the excess is high and (I know you're going to take this the wrong way but please don't) it is only a 172 clio.

I take that the right way. It is only a 172, its worthless if it gets damaged on track. However, I don't wanna get stung with bills for armco and things should I get it wrong. But only CCI cover that on their road policies with included track use, and they won't cover me.

Unless I can find somewhere that covers more than just my car I won't bother.

on all UK track days I have been on you are only responsible for your car, nobody elses and not damage to the track or recovery. A friend put their car into some Armco gently at Brands and did not receive a bill, at Nurburg I did the something similar and it was £1000+ to the track.
