Basically sold an item that was brand new, never been used or installed, to do with plumbing and electrics

he received the items and used the words "thanks its exactly the same item as i had removed"? anyhow he then goes on to explain the item is faulty and wont work? the items had never been used in there life!

i then go onto help him (baring in mind these items needed to be installed by a professional) he claims hes a heating engineer? but said there unusable, so i send him all the relevant paperwork and instructions to guide him, everything i get back is these don't work, i want a refund!

i then said i wouldn't be issuing a refund as there was nothing wrong with the items, he then sends the items to case, and leaves negative feedback on my profile,

so what do i do from here? do i have any chance of this going in my favor?

Alex

No. Fight it all you can but all he has to do is post his broken, used one back to you and say that is what you sent him.

He will win, you will loose.

Which is why I only buy on Ebay nowadays, never sell.

I think hes trying to pull a fast one, ive told ebay about that message, im so wound up!

all ive done so far, is leave response to his feedback, and followed up my feedback on his wall

If he returns the items to you they will issue the refund directly to him, not much you can do. There is zero protection for sellers these days.

I've basically been given no option but to take negative feedback and reply to a case? its so poor, i'm pretty disappointed about the lack of help given!

Sure it isn't actually faulty? If it's never been used it is possible.

I'd just get it back, refund him and sell it to someone else, if it works. You simply will not win if it goes to dispute.

If you had accepted a return, I'm sure he wouldn't have left negative feedback?

My dad bought a soundcard the other day, which didn't work he tried it in 3 machines I tested it in my machine it was definitely dead.

Even so the seller was adamant it worked, and wouldn't accept my dad paying for it to be sent back and just receiving a refund for the card and not the postage.

If he is sure it works why couldn't he get it returned and re sell the stupid thing?!"!

I usually take a few photos of the item before I send it, with a dated note beside it, as proof. Not much you can do, but keep fighting it. Trying to think if there's anything fancy you can do with a receipt but nothing springs to mind..

Why should i refund on an item never installed? nor used? and after his email saying he'd removed one similar that makes me pretty suspicious!

nope afraid not but got pretty good pictures of it?

thats all i have! it was from a wholesaler basically like OEM unboxed, but no damage whatsoever!

Well if you've got good pictures and he returns something that resembles a smacked spaniels face then you may have good ground to argue against him, any chance you can return the item to the wholesaler for a refund?

Sorry OP but thats what ebay has become, most will take note of serial numbers or any identifiable mark in order to avoid having the buyers dodgy crap returned as the item they sold.
Unfortunately running into a buyer like this is usually the way people find that out .

He will win, you will loose.

Lose. Lose, Its spelled ******* lose!

Would a lot of people take into consideration one bad feedback, when the rest are positive, and ive argued my case against the feedback?

Trouble is he could send back his own faulty component and keep the new one.

This is always the problem and unless you have photos of serial numbers or something else that you can prove whether it was actually your item that was returned there isnt anything you can do about it :(
