FAO homeowners

I bought about the same time as you and I'm looking to move, not through lack of space really, but I'd really like off road parking and a garden, currently in a yarded mid terrace. I've also increased my salary a fair bit since then and might consider buying with the gf.

i wouldn't have bought a place without parking but this was only through learning of a friends experience who lived in a terraced house and had no reserved parking. it was a nightmare when i went round to visit him, i'd have to park a fair bit away, i can only imagine how bad it must have been to live there. come back from a hard days slog and then have the trauma of having to find somewhere to park your motor? no thanks

Parking's not difficult on my road fortunately, so when buying it was only the sacrifice of not being able to safely work on my car, outweighed by the house for the budget I had then though. Times have changed though and I could afford a bigger, nicer house with a garden and off road parking.

are you growing exotic plants ;)

No but my gf works from home and we are big electric users. My pc doesn;t help which is left on 24/7 most of the time.

Her's is on for up to 12 hours a day as well.

We also have electric fencing so quite often there's a battery on charge.

I have one of those owl meter things and it always reads over 20Kwh most days :o

But tbh I am only saying what our electric should be as we haven't had a bill for 8 years now.:D

how long did you live in the first house you purchased for?

Just over a year, house prices went through the roof in that time so sold up.

A mate bought that house and have extended it and are perfectly happy there. So glad we made the move though.

If you're happy where you are and there is scope to extend then may be best to stay for now but why not price up getting the loft converted and maybe that will make your mind up for you.
