Storms with damaging winds and embedded tornadoes have been roaring from the South and Ohio Valley to the East Coast since Monday morning.

All together, there has been over 800 reports of damaging winds, tornadoes and large hail as of 6:00am EDT on Tuesday! Over 700 of these have been in the form of damaging wind gusts. This is the most reports in a single 24-hour period since April of 2006.

NO HOTLINKING

I think that in USA severe weather is frequent but not with this extension. And here sunny and 22 degree, at the begininng of April should be 16 degree.

Weather channel are fear mongering drama queens like any other news channel. It's normal weather for spring.

Yes that happens but not with this extension and damages, at least according to the weather channel in US

It's news mate, they probably have nothing better to report so they report this with a fear factor slammed ontop of it to get attention.

Normal?? Probably normale the situation that you tell before, the mix between cold and warm air in spring. But not so normal the strenght and extension of storms.

In my opinion hail like this it's not so normal....possibile 5 or 6 cm diameter.

There is only one solution for this. I've got all my lights on, heating up full, and just put the washing machine on an endless loop. Let's speed up this global warming thing, I want palm trees!

It is possible that the severe weather maybe moved further south to places were it is not normal, from changes to the Jet Stream. That's what caused the heat wave in Russia and flooding in Pakistan last year.
