lucky i've only had 2~ rma to ocuk which was a cpu cooler and a gpu cooler, both times they did a quick rma, about 3-4days each time.. which was great service...

It takes one person to become a "terrorist" (look it up when related to customer satisfaction) and they tell 10 people, they tell 10... and so on. I had a bad experience with a competitor and haven't shopped there since. All it takes is one

This forum is helpful and I find it useful. But some people are tools. At the end of the day it is a forum run by a company trying to sell us stuff. Fair do :)

Lol are you for real?

nath and the rest of overclockers staff are resolving this for me so dont let whats happened to me put you off as i said before in 5970 thread i wasnt trying to give ocuk a bad name and i appreciate all the support from forum members and ocuk staff.

It isn't often said but you have to also recognise that the forums are a huge part of the ocuk experience. Without these forums I would have bought a lot of **** for a long time. The only CS encounter I have had with ocuk ended splendidly. I really think they are very lenient when it comes to allowing some discussions. I personally wouldn't if it deprived cash from my pocket. If I haven't said it before, thank you ocuk, prepare to shortly receive another grand of my dosh.

Well after reading that I feel like I'm back at school and have just been told off during assembly.

I've had to use OCUK's once and that was to return some DDR2 ram when I should have bought DDR3 (god I felt stupid) but it resolved painlessly.

Lol are you for real?

The guy speaks the truth. If you have a good experience research shows you are likely to tell 3 or 4 people about it but if you have a bad one your likely to tell 10 people hence why OCUK management have seen fit to post this thread presumably to limit the damage.

What did you get in the end?

I've had a few issues in the past and have always found rjkoneill to be very helpful, even when it turns out I've done something thick and it's my fault lol. I agree with the point of the thread though, if you have an issue take it to the company not the forum members (except for diagnosis, which can save a few quid in postage!)

nath has offered me a sapphire 5970 but im debating whether to accept the refund, and just go the sli route of 2 gtx 480s at there current price i did buy 2 of them for another rig which has just been sold on to a friend, i know people have said to accept the card and sell it on a well known auction site but iv recently had a lot of people trying to scam me on there lately due to me being a new seller but my minds not made up yet, and i realy appreciate what nath has done for me.

Plus the whole situation has put me off dual gpu cards in general just like my gtx 295 i bought which broke and was from gainward they never seem to last long or i maybe just have bad luck, plus manufacturers dont seem to support them in keeping stock for future replacements

That previous thread turned into something it shouldnt. The guys stepped in to get you a replacement 5970 which you wanted, and now you dont know if you want it ?

I find that pretty strange.

i would personally go for the sapphire card. whilst not quite the same clock speed that the XFX one was, it will give you the closest performance to what you had previously.

its great to hear that your issue has been resolved

thats the problem with all graphics cards i am afraid.
once a card becomes end of life, it is near impossible to obtain replacements sometimes [depends of course on how popular the card is]
OcUK are in the same boat as everybody else in this matter. we are entirely at the mercy of the manufacturers sometimes which is a shame because it can reflect badly on us which is the problem that we have seen in this instance. i can assure you that we are working hard to improve in this area.

Glad you're getting satisfaction one way or another.

Presumably your current setup supports SLI?

I was a bit surprised with the 5970 has it had a very short lifespan from when it was released much shorter than i expected

yes it does supports 3 way sli or crossfire everything else i have in my system has been going on 2 years now with no problems just ever since i got into the dual gpu side of cards i seem to have had nothing but problems.
