Cheers edelweiss, im on bt option 3, (upto 8mb), rarely go's much above 5mb, particularly bad after 6.30pm until 10.00 ono, i was getting a little bit of lag tonight, same as most nights at this time tbh.

Ping test result.

These readings are rubbish!!!

I'm on 50MB virgin and only have a direct jack in.... first reading i got a ping of 89!!!!!!!

Just tried pingtest again.

Up and down like a yo yo lol,:D bt are bad for capping at peak times, quite a lot of my friends who game on the xbox report the same issues at peak time.

Im on talktalk upto 24meg and i generally get about 8meg but ping is good NO LAG :D

Although they limit bittorrent traffic between like 3pm-0am

Unfortunately bt's fibre optic setup isnt available in my area yet, though my nephew who lives in town 6 miles from me is on it, upto 40mb, 33mb is highest he's seen iirc. Shame i live in the sticks.:D

I know what the problem is :(

It's usually maxes out at 30ms, that's why it's fine at 7pm then gets worse the longer i play but by 10pm it's improving again. If the server has any lag problems then i get it ten fold!. So for the most part you are right DG about my connection however because it's sporadic sometimes it can be perfect and it depends on the server. During the day it's A+ , 2MS Jitter, 20MS Ping

Now 9.30pm

It's ruining my gameplay, i can't play bfbc2 with this

I'm on the basic (free) service. Mine fluctuates less too :/

Probably heavy usage on the exchange, as between 8 and 10 it's pants a 140+ ping rise even the Jitter ms heads towards 20

Line looks pants on your 7:50 and 8:30 tests. Guess it's the peak time for sky. Maybe a good time to have dinner and down a few ar the local and back in time for a few games at 10 onwards :D

said about a month ago that your probs were probably bad internet would find post in this thread but theres too many posts :p

sky are crap get a better isp if you enjoy gaming online more neil.

Sky are crap with regard to gaming, i'll admit i was wrong right now

But amazing for internet speeds and price, atleast compared to what i've used before...

Nearly took BT to court, if that gives you an example :p

O2 Broadband, £10/month, 16Mb/s (or 20Mb/s now, don't know - doesn't make a difference). Totally unlimited.

I get some 80-85% of my quoted bandwidth in normal use, can't complain really as the connection is very stable.
