Just got a letter from the bank

Yer bud you have your priorities **** about face. Posting here before ringing the bank is pretty ******* dumb.

*EDIT* - and either your postman is damn late or you just got you lazy *** out of bed and found the letter. I am betting on the second one. Second year resits you say?

Absolutely no reason for this kind of response. Calm down.

post on a forum and bury your head in the sand.

works everytime garunteed! (do you ever wonder why so many people on this forum mention they have been declared bankrupt at one time or another?)

Yes I know, it's surprising how many people see these forums as the first port of call for problems, when the obvious thing to do is often to go speak to the person/bank/university or whatever is causing the problem.

Can the bank just terminate an account, without some written notice or period to appeal the decision? :/

Nice response. No, I haven't just rolled out of bed. I'm living with and looking after a grandparent. My mail still gets delivered to my mothers address, I drive round and collect it whenever some comes through.

Do you not have a student card at the university? Scan it in/photocopy and send them a letter?

I do for last year however I wasn't reissued one last semester because I'm essentially just submitting coursework for second semester modules I wasn't able to complete.

Perhaps the OP has maxed out his OD on this account and set up a new Student account elsewhere and having his Student loan paid into the new account. If that is the case than I can't blame the bank.

If this is not the case then perhaps the OP should go and see his bank pronto.

No, it isn't the case. I don't have a student loan this year nor am I having any financial support for student fees. I'm simply resitting on my own and I do work and have an income, I just can't afford to pay back the £1k overdraft at present, especially when I'm looking to return to education in September.

I just found my module registration forms. I'll nip up to the bank with them and see if they suffice.

I apologise for the thread, I was in panic mode and I have a habit of sitting infront of the computer whilst on the phone, I typed it up because it was taking a while to speak to an advisor.

That could be the problem then as they expect some form of student loan to be paid in to keep a student account open, it shouldn't be a major issue if you pop into branch with a letter from the uni stating you are still studying there.

All the knee jerk "I would post on the internet" responses are fairly tiresome. Does it make you feel REALLY clever to post things like that?

I'm sure once upon a time it has been a valid response to a particularly clueless poster, but now we have far too many pretentious types looking to emulate and get some kind of kudos. Weird tbh.

This, however...

...is spectacular.

Or perhaps it's tiresome reading threads where people are apparently too lazy to think for themselves?

There is no other possible useful information anyone can give other than, speak to your bank first.

Fair enough if he'd already done this, and came here saying that his bank are refusing to accept his proof of being a student, then that would be a different thing. People could then offer advice that might be of help.

div0, I suggest that people who read threads that they know are going to wind them up have got no excuses for their responses.
