Howdy all,

New company car received yesterday. Requirement was for a comfy cruiser that was well specced as standard so I didn't have to rape the options list. Also, something that has at least a touch of character to it & likes to be driven when I am in the mood :)

Had the usual suspects to choose from but decided a different route this time & went for:

2011 Mazda6 Sport 2.2D 180ps

Very well specced as standard with electric & auto everything but some other highlights include:

Half leather
Bi-Xenons with Adaptive Lighting
Front & Rear PDC
Dual zone climate
Keyless entry with start / stop button
Integrated Bluetooth hands free with audio streaming
Premium Bose sound system inc amp mounted under drivers seat - 8 speakers & a custom boot subwoofer
Heated seats
Hill hold assist
Rear vehicle monitoring system

First impressions are very good, feels nice & well screwed together. Engine feels good & responsive with plenty of pull. Had a good run around today, nice & refined on the motorway - very little wind noise, which is good. Had a blat around a few country lanes & it comes to life nicely with good positive steering. So, seems to cover the bases so far.

Some of the lower interior plastics could be better quality though, which is disappointing. No rattles or squeaks though & the stereo is awesome which is a massive plus - So a nice place to be as well.

Excuse my quick iPhone 4 pictures :o

Time will tell of course but seems good so far :)

I really like the look of these but the "Sport" badge irritates me when it has an arch gap like that and the fact that its a diesel, I appreciate its a trim level but it always seems odd to me

You must be irritated by an awful lot of cars these days as sports badges and diesels are somewhat common. You could even get a Renault Sport Megane Diesel if the R26 was too hot.

Only a single exhaust pipe? The one I drive for work trips has 2, similar spec but last year's reg.

Really nice cars though. Some cabin noise at high speeds and a sloppy gearbox aside, they're pretty comfortable motorway cruisers :D

Could be the car warning system it has where it lights up the wing mirror LED inside to let you know cars are coming from behind on either side?
