FUMING! at user on popular auction site! advice?

The worst case would be if ebay says he can return it to you for a refund. So he will return it to you at his cost and you will refund him all the money he paid (ie. you will make a loss on fees and original p&p).

His move :)

Except that's not worst case when he sends an 'identical' bust part back which cannot be sold on. He has lost fees, postage costs and his item. That's kind of the issue at hand here...well - potentially.

tip for the future. Takes pics of everything you sell on the bay and if they play up and leave negative feedback etc, comment on their comments and post links to pics of the item in good/working condition.

Neoni, you could try bluffing and informing him you have photographs of the serial numbers etc?

Or tell him to **** off if he's tampered with it and broken it. Try and explain this to eBay as best you can.

What if I bought a PlayStation off you, you sent it to me and then I took it to bits and put it back together again and it didn't work, is that your fault? No way in hell.

Fight the bar-steward.

Im gonna ring said auction site tomorrow and explain what hes told me its there in broad daylight for them to read! so ill see what they say, you cant tamper with an item then claim it doesn't work once you've taken it apart, just doesn't work like that!

In the real word you would think that... let us know how ebay see it though!

Not sure how far wrong a new wireless receiver/stat can go to be honest (apart from maybe the relay in the receiver). Probably not even the right diagnosis of the problem (if it was the other way round I'd probably advise you to bridge out the receiver to be sure).

I would no way in any shape or form take that item back or refund him. He has taken your item claimed it was faulty and then taken it apart. What on earth. Ebay cannot seriously find in his favour and expect you to refund a item that he has now broken.

I wouldn't let this go at all. Tell him you have serial numbers pictures and you will be contacting ebay. If he sends it recored dont sign for it and so on. Eventually it will either close the case you get your cash or umm it gets lost in the post and he can claim his cash from royal mail :D

MORE NEWS!

:D apparently the buyer has given up discussing it with me and he said he'll swallow it and take the fact he's lost money? why would he do that if he was in the right?

ALSO! spoke to customer support shes read the mail regarding the tampering and has flagged this on the case, and she said he is not eligible for a refund but we cant take the case forward until the 14th she says as soon as it hits the 14th, escalate the case and i should be in a position to have the case closed!

Success!
That's good news Mate, far to many tankers on ebay get away with daylight robbery.

Glad you got it sorted Neoni, its situations like this which put me off of selling items on ebay.

Just see what happens now on the 14th but should be ok after what she said, she said to call them straight back on the 14th

and Cheers Guys!
