Facebook - what do people check in to their houses for?

always wondered this.

I dont understand why people would want to check in their house on facebook, there telling everyone where they live which is major security risk,

if you want to use the check in feature of the facebook app on the iphone for a proper reason, its usually spammed with peoples house's name!

Because they have no common sense whatsoever? Some people are just like that. Just like the people who post annoying status updates constantly.

I only check into good places, like Fanny's :-)

Thought as much... I dont really see the point in the "check in" feature of facebook.. can be handy when it sends you a notifcation if someone is nearby though.

Im guessing its the Iphone app whereby people can check into restaurants etc and it will show up on facebook. Never seen anybody check into their own home using it though :confused:

To let friends know where they are?

I do it all the time when I'm going out somewhere and Often meet up with mates who know where a group of us are.

Though I'd agree, Home updates constantly are annoying.
