Got a new job hundreds of miles away so no way i can come around to fix the printer, Outlok issues blah blah.

Not used free remote desktop software in years so what's about now? I always used VNC 7/8 years ago but i require something thats VERY simply to login, "i,e Mum go to this website, now type in this code" simple.

Ideally free but i dont mind paying a few quid.

I use the free version of Logmein for this. Set it up on their machine and it then runs as an agent in the system tray. If you need to connect to their machine then they do nothing, you log into the Logmein site via your browser, select and authenticate against their machine and then you can remote control to your hearts content ...

It just use skype. I use it to talk to my parents anyway so if they have a problem I tell them to share their screen and talk them through how to fix it.

Used TeamViewer at a LAN party couple years ago, not bad but i've installed Logmein ..... fingers crossed.

Came back today to pickup a few things then internet drops out, spent 90minutes fixing it. Realised this dizzle was needed otherwise they'l get sold TechFriend by some purple shirt....a soul destroying thought.

teamviewer all the way. Very simple and easy to use and works well with my parents and a couple of other friends systems that I occasionally need to log into.
